This is an amazing example of a J. Bauer and Company Chicago. This side action rotrary Eb cornet dates to the 1860's. Not much is known on this company except that they imported instruments and may have been the first company to start manufacturing in the U.S.
 
This beautiful example plays very well and has great rotor compression. It is a complete cornet in raw brass.
